Neighborhood

The Chalet Sunneblick is located in the Mühlebach district, in a green natural setting. It has direct access to the hiking trails. A bus stop 250m away provides access to the dense public transport network of the Jungfrau Region. The village of Grindelwald lies at the foot of the Eiger in the Bernese Oberland. It is surrounded by an impressive mountain backdrop with the north face of the Eiger and the Wetterhorn. This backdrop and countless activities make Grindelwald one of the most popular holiday and excursion destinations in Switzerland. The train takes you via Kleine Scheidegg to the Jungfraujoch; the "Top of Europe" is still Europe's highest station and a world-famous destination in the snow and ice. In good weather, the Aletsch Glacier, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, can be admired from here. In summer, 300 km of well-maintained hiking trails can be enjoyed. Numerous excursions for all levels are possible, with catering and accommodation available. Suitable routes for mountain bikes are available. Bikes can be taken up to First by cable car. This destination is ideal for paragliding. Chalet Sunneblick is located in the immediate vicinity of the ski and toboggan runs of the Grindelwald First ski area. If the snow conditions permit, it is possible to ski back to the chalet. The ski areas First and Kleine Scheidegg - Mannlichen - Wengen offer 160 kilometres of slopes with around 30 facilities up to 2500m. The Schilthorn near Mürren even reaches 2971m. There are 80 kilometres of winter hiking trails with views of seven majestic four-thousanders and glaciers to choose from, as well as 60 kilometres of toboggan runs, including one of the longest toboggan runs in the Alps at 15 kilometres from the Faulhorn to the valley. Of course, countless other winter and summer sports are possible in Grindelwald.
